Dr. Amish Shah
AZ-01
House
Democrat
BAC Nominee
Raised in Chicago by Gujarati immigrant parents, Amish Shah earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from Northwestern University, followed by a Master of Public Health from UC Berkeley. After completing his emergency medicine residency in New York City and serving as an NFL team physician, he moved to Arizona to practice emergency medicine and fly medical care to rural communities. During his five years in the Arizona House of Representatives, Shah passed more bills into law than any state Democrat in a decade. His legislative platform prioritizes capping prescription prices, defending abortion rights, expanding public education funding, and safeguarding Social Security and Medicare.
