Raised in Dunbar and South Charleston, Vince George earned his degree in political science and commerce from West Virginia University. A former educator, state staffer, and retired AFSCME union member, he spent decades helping families access SNAP, Medicaid, and black lung medical care. As a conservation advocate, he lobbied for clean air and water safeguards regarding mountaintop mining. Grounded in kitchen-table economics, George’s platform prioritizes reversing Medicaid cuts, raising the federal minimum wage, expanding rural healthcare, funding Social Security, and protecting environmental health to deliver unbought, practical leadership for working-class Mountaineers.
